Mark Taber-RI’s Piano Man

Mark started playing the piano at the age of 4 and playing it for 75 yrs. He honed his craft as a young teenager by bunking school and playing piano in Providence bars entertaining the day drinkers. Influenced by the great American novel “On the Road” by Ginsberg, Mark was inspired to cut his own musical path and study great bands like Duke Ellington. Mark joined the legendary, Rhode Island, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band the Ken Lyon & the Tombstone Blues Band. Mark played with the iconic Rhode Island band for 30 years playing for huge audiences and opening up for Janis Joplin.

In addition to being an integral part of little Rhody’s music history, Mark is also a visual artist who creates sculptures by repurposing found objects. Come enjoy the wizard of the keys under the umbrellas and listen to him cast his spell.
