Empress is a singer, songwriter, and performer based out of Rhode Island. As an artist, survivor of domestic violence and mother of four she aims to bring awareness to issues facing families, single parents, and those affected by familial abuse and poverty in her community and around the country.
Empress has a smooth and soothing tonality that can ease the body and mind while invoking the senses and touching the soul. Her styles are soulful and enigmatic, mixed with rhythm, blues, jazz, and folk. Her range is akin to artists such as Jewel for their sweet and light soundscapes to Etta James and Adele for their powerhouse vocals.
Her words are a reflection of her life and the people she meets along her journey as she travels nomadically in between keeping up with the responsibilities of motherhood. Empress is currently working on funding her first album titled “A Song for Christian” as well as building community workshops that consist of familial-style dinners to promote food security and nutrition while introducing the element of play through musical instruments and song-building to underserved caregivers and families.
Empress will be launching her first mini-series “Open Hearts, No Fear” this fall as an intimate and conversational display of her art and life to share with the public and to get to know her audience and tribe. You won’t regret sharing space and connecting with this artist!
